SKD Dowel Caps are designed to accommodate small horizontal movement is steel dowels such as may be employed as restraint in some bridge designs. SKD Dowel Caps prevent spalling of concrete and reduce the concentration of stresses and accommodates tilting movements of dowel pin by providing cushioned. These are made up of natural rubber, are maintenance free, and act as good resistance against abrasion and puncture.
Two types are available with differing external dimensions and pin diameters ranging from 20 to 50 mm and with standard length 76mm to extended length 300mm. The standard natural rubber compound has a hardness of 60 IRHD and is specifically formulated to satisfy the requirements of BS1154 and BS5400. SKD Dowel Caps are simple to fit and are supplied with complete instructions.
